38th Annual Walcott Truckers Jamboree Draws More than 44,000 Attendees

The 38th Annual Walcott Truckers Jamboree took place last weekend and brought more than 44,000 truck drivers and their families together for a weekend of celebrations, fun, and trucks.

This can’t-miss event took place at the Iowa 80 Truckstop, also know as the World’s Largest Truckstop, and provided three days of non-stop fun. Drivers from across the US and Canada enjoyed live music, food, chrome showrooms, a truck light show, and antique trucks.

But this event wasn’t just for the drivers. Families were kept entertained by over 140 exhibits, two nights of fireworks, and even got to cheer on their favourite driver in the Trucker Olympics.

“As a trucker myself it means a lot. It’s much appreciated to see people put this in action for us and for the guys on the road it’s a nice break for them going down the road,” driver Carl Wallin told WQAD News 8. “For the old school guys walking around here it might bring back some memories from when they were my age.”

The Jamboree isn’t just a weekend of fun. It’s a celebration of trucking culture and the sacrifices we make to keep the world running smoothly.

“My family is proud to have been serving the trucking industry for 53 years,” said Delia Moon Meier, Senior Vice President of Iowa 80 Truckstop. “The Walcott Truckers Jamboree is our chance to thank all of the men and women who deliver the good we need every day, and we are honored to do so.”

The Iowa 80 Truckstop was listed as one of the Top 15 Quirky Places to Visit by CNN Travel in 2015, and has been billed as a trucker’s “Disneyland.”

If you’re wishing you didn’t miss out on this year’s festivities, there’s always next year. The 39th annual Walcott Truckers Jamboree is scheduled to return next year from July 12th to 14th. Who’s interested?
